One to Buy: Strawberry Pink 2024 Ruf CTR Anniversary

At Supercar Nostalgia, we are firm believers in the preservation of automotive history and, for this reason, the only Resto Mods you’ll ever see here are vehicles that incorporate a couple of discrete upgrades but which otherwise remain true to OEM specification.

Unfortunately, that cannot be said for the likes of Singer and co. who take classic Porsches and rebuild them into often frightfully tasteless abominations.

Let’s face it, practically any engineering company worth their salt should be able to substantially improve a 35 year old Porsche 911 with modern technology – especially if someone’s prepared to blow more than a million bucks on the thing.

More worthy of respect is what goes on at the Ruf works where, in addition to enhancing already superb contemporary products from Porsche, the skilled engineers at Pfaffenhausen now create stunning automotive products from scratch.

Ten years on from Ruf’s first in-house model, the spectacular CTR3, the company unveiled a 21st century tribute to the legendary CTR ‘Yellowbird’ that had catapulted the company onto the global stage back in 1987.

Given its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2017, the CTR Anniversary was based around Ruf’s first own carbonfibre monocoque. In the engine bay was a Porsche-derived twin turbocharged 3.6-litre Flat 6 hooked up to a seven-speed manual gearbox.

Cloaking all this was a narrow all-carbonfibre body that, together with forged alloy 19-inch five-spoke wheels, instantly evoked memories of the original CTR from 30 years prior.

With 699bhp on tap at 6750rpm and a peak torque rating of 649lb-ft between 2750rpm and 4000rpm, performance figures were unsurprisingly impressive for the 1250kg machine: 0-62mph took 3.5 seconds, 0-125mph took 9 seconds and top speed was 224mph.

With production limited to just 50 copies, CTR Annivarsaries rarely come onto the open market, but currently on offer at the Curated showroom in Miami is the car you see here.

Configured in Strawberry Pink with a mix of alcantara hide and fabric inlays for the interior, this incredible modern day homage to arguably the greatest Super Tuner machine of its era has covered just 750 miles and presents in as-new condition.
