HISTORY OF CHASSIS 70167

Chassis 70167 was the second GTO Evoluzione built from a six-car production run.

The first three served as Ferrari test cars during the mid 1980s.

The second three were built for VIP customers in 1988.

Completed in 1985, chassis 70167 received Ferrari’s 550bhp Tipo F114 CR engine. Following its retirement from test duty, the car was sold to Chapal leather boss, Pierre Bardinon, who around this time had amassed the world’s finest Ferrari collection. His Mas du Clos museum in central France even had its own private test track.

In 1995, chassis 70167 was sold to fellow collector, Yoshiki Okimoto of Kobe, Japan, who retained it until 2012.
