Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1983, the E24-based M635 CSi was BMW Motorsport’s first effort at the parent company’s grand 6-seriwa 2+2 Coupe.

In the engine bay of the M635 CSi was a further enhanced version of the dual overhead cam 3.5-litre straight six from the M1 supercar. By contrast, all other 6-series ran a single overhead cam motor. Also new was a special close-ratio Getrag five-speed manual gearbox.

Suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres were all suitably uprated and there were a couple of little visual tweaks as well.

In total, 5855 examples of the M635 CSi (and north american M6) were built between February 1984 and February 1989. Of these, 3283 were left-hand drive Euro-spec. cars with no cat, one of which is currently on the market with Autosport Designs at their showroom in Long Island, New York.

A 1985 German market example immediately exported by its one and only owner to California, this 38,000 mile machine was configured in the rarely seen colour combination of Bronzit Metallic with Red leather upholstery and Black carpet.

Optional extras fitted at the factory included BMW’s three-piece cross-spoke alloy wheels with low-profile tyres, green heat-insulating glass, an electric sunroof, air-conditioning and velour floor mats.

Offered in superb condition throughout with a fully documented service history.

An exceptional example of the E24 6-Series coupes, this M6 is a true icon of BMW's performance M cars. The first generation M6 was critically acclaimed throughout its lifespan for its elegant, aggressive "shark-nose" styling; yet another masterpiece of contemporary design by maestro Paul Bracq.

Improvements over the base 6-Series cars were “M" badges on the front grille and rear decklid, body color side-view mirrors, a rear lip spoiler, larger front air dam, larger front brakes and a 10 mm lowered ride height. This rare European spec M6 had more power than the US spec cars with 286bhp. It was quite the luxury supercar of its day.

Factory options include: BMW alloy wheels cross-spoke with low-section tires, Green heat-insulating glass, Electric sliding/vent roof, Air conditioning, Velour floor mats as well as previous owner supplied Black Coco Mats.

This European spec M6 was originally purchased and delivered in Germany and then imported to the United States by its first and only owner to date, a resident of Northern California.

This M6 has accumulated only 38,000 miles, thus having been used on average 1,000 miles yearly from new. In excellent serviced condition, this M6 is a true testament to the previous owners care and respect for what he thought was and is an icon of the BMW's M-Power history.

The M6 has been serviced routinely and most recently it has been serviced at the previous owner's local BMW dealership. Today, all systems are working as per factory and as originally intended when new.

This M6 is turn-key. A recent road test attests to the M6 performing flawlessly in every way, it is indeed ready for immediate use and pleasure within its next ownership.
